I Am Graduating High School This Year

Why is it that now, in my second semester of senior year, I'm feeling so conflicted over prom? I never even cared before. But now it feels like, since it's coming up, and it's my last chance, I really want to go. And I'm told if I don't, I'll regret it in the future. But I've never even dated and have no one to go with! This, combined with college and a few other probably silly things, makes me feel so awkward and different, in an uncomfortable way that I haven't felt for about a year and a half now. Ugh I'm not expecting anyone to respond to this and I'll probably delete it but I just feel like I wasted four years compared to everyone else and the whole thing is making me uneasy and somewhat stressed, I just wanted to say...

I know it seems like middle school and highschool was a big deal, but trust me it's not. The next phase of your life will be very different even if you go to college immediately. In a couple years what you did or didnt do in high school wont even matter to you. Think about your future.

@justthat1girl99: Welcome. I decided not to go to prom back when i was in HS. I dont regret it either. I think you are mostly feeling this way because so many of your friends are going. I know this sounds crazy but, try not to get too caught up in what your friends are doing. Be independant,be yourself, be original, and people will naturally be drawn to you.

I think that might be why too haha. Feels like a lot of pressure. I think once I get past the whole graduation thing and get settled into college, and start forming new relationships, I'll pretty much be past it, whether I do or don't go. Thank you, I really appreciate your comment.
