I Have A Strict Mom

My mom was always on the strict side. But I'm an adult now and there is literally an ocean between where I live and she lives. That makes it all the stranger that she very recently has become more assertive and strict in our phone conversations. I'm not sure how that will look or translate when I go to visit her over the Christmas holidays.

@Scouser She's semi-elderly -- elderly-esque -- at this point, which is what makes her less intimidating. And that fact that I'm older. But extremely stern and not one to smile much. Not that she's unhappy or doesn't have a generous side but, very demanding.
