Should I apologise for being one of "those" people

"If by a "liberal"they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares for the welfare of the people-their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties-someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "liberal" then I am proud to say I'm a "liberal'- John F. Kennedy, Profiles in Courage.
Look guys, I don't blame you folks who are conservatives and have been angry about welfare fraud, I get angry too, I resent people who keep breeding babies and have never worked a day in their lives, I resent standing in line with a handful of bare bones essentials of food that will barely get me by (if even that) whilst the morbidly obese lady in front of me has two overflowing carts of groceries filled with cases of pop, expensive cuts of meat, etc. pays with food stamps, then drives off in a brand new SUV. the abuse of HUD housing, etc. But even with all of this, the taxpayer amount is actually tiny compared to the corporate fraud, government "cronyism" and the billions they soak from those of us "working poor"....

We have a president that so far, has spent way over 7 million just for his weekends at Mar-a-lago". Has bragged about his not having to pay income taxes because of his numerous bankruptcies, that in turn, caused many hundreds of sub-contractors to also go bankrupt, and left thousands of former employee's without jobs.

A president that now has to kiss Putens behind because of the untold debt he owes Russian investors. This is a man who is making a habit of insulting and alienating countries that have been our closest allies, and the list of his nefarious dealings goes on ad infinitum.

Instead of trolling each other, being rude and spewing hatred, I think that it's important, to now than ever, put aside political differences and look at all sides objectively. I think it's time to remember that "WE" are the people. We need to look at all sides objectively, and start watching each others back and not the backside of someone who's is all about himself not you or I.
Just saying.

The hardest thing for me to take when considering the conservative position is that they're fighting against the wrong enemy. But that's what happens when they're fed a steady diet of fear and misinformation. "Us vs. Them" is a powerful platform and one that's been used forever by those in power to control the masses.
If the "real" Americans decided to stand up against our shared enemy, we'd all see a better quality of life. But until then, we get to hear about "freedom" (that denies freedom to others), a "Christian nation," (that doesn't extend mercy and compassion to those in need) and less government (when it's the government that is the only thing standing between them and ruin).
Beautifully said. thanks.

@Ynotisay, I liked a lot what you said however, I don't think that calling conservatives misinformated helps a lot.

@twistermind: I said they're fed misinformation. Some conservatives realize that. Others don't.

coyotedave6 no not at all it is nice to see somebody with a sense of social conscience and actually giving a damn about the poor and needy of your country there are one or two on here who shout you down for criticising trump

I agree with you about coming together, but not about Trump. Those allegations are unfounded without evidence.

You sound like a classic liberal not the cultural Marxists lunatics that prevail in the culture who have no common sense and want to destroy everything good in western culture. Those who turn reality on its head denying male and female, want their safe spaces, and can't hold a rational thought and keep calling others Nazis and racist, and speaking of "white priveledge." Wanting to ban the word "mother" because it offends trans people. These are the lunatic left who are irrational and illogical. You can't reason with them, and they think violence is okay.

No, I don't think you are one of them, but the left is now run by these lunatics, so I'm afraid your side is all lumped in together with the "useful idiots." Btw, I'm a conservative independent. I don't vote for the person but issues and values.

No. Nothing wrong with being liberal.
I'm progressist, that it's pretty similar to what people understand for liberal here. I'm proud of it. But, I try to listen to people who doesn't think the same as me.
I also share your opinion that we could talk about politics with respect for the other.
