Covid completely killed the nightlife scene. The city reopened today but it's totally dead out here.
It's Friday night but there's no activity anywhere.

I would give it a little more time. People are still apprehensive about rejoining society after living a year all by themselves. It will slowly start to get better.

@Bri89 I also remembered this weekend is Rican Day which means it's going to be extremely violent. Maybe everyone decided not to go out because they didn't wanna risk getting shot.
Nightlife has been dead here since 2016 so I hadn't really noticed. 2002-2003 was fucking insane though.

Sydney never really closed down apart from April last year a year later everything is open and no people anywhere

Nightlife is still closed here. But they will reopen and things will get back to normal I'm sure.
