Why do some people blame religion for everything?

GlassDog · 41-45, M
Most people have a bias where they think the entire world should be the way they ideally want it to be, and can't understand that others would have a different viewpoint. Thus, those with different thoughts are to blame for getting in the way of individual utopia.

Because it's easier than doing anything about the problem they think religion is to blame for.
to shift responsibility

It’s not the religion just the people who don’t have a full understanding of the religion using it to do hateful things. Which then leads people to blame the religion.

I don't think it so much about the religion itself as it is the followers of it. As I heard a comedian once say..."Hey man I trust Jesus, it's the people he has working for him that I don't trust".😏

"The Book of Eli" with Denzel Washington seems to put a finger on that question. There are those who love to leverage religion to acquire power. There are others who truly believe.

In the end, however, the power-hungry end up with the same amount of power as the true believer. Ponder this: Alexander the Great once ruled some six million square miles of real estate. However, he now "rules" only about 40 square feet. And he doesn't enjoy even that little bit (if, indeed, his body is interred in Alexandria--no one really knows where his remains er--remain).

Because all religions are all-encompassing delusions coloring everthing about life and understanding.

@redredred Israel is one of the only two countries in the world, made in the name of religion. Promise land for Jews so they occupied Palestine and Jews of all colors migrated to promise land of Israel. Even that, some of the Jews were secretly migrated to Israel by human trafficking as it was like going to heaven on Earth for Jews. Such an amazing unity until I came across the riots news between black and white Jews. Both with pure blood lines but just over the difference of color of their skins.

Isn't it amazing that, they go through all this over the name of religion and yet they can't get rid of human element?

Eleminate all the religions and you still be fighting for some reasons. It os part pf our DNA, blame Gods or evolution but its always us.

Convenience is more attractive than honest evaluation of any complex problem.

@FloridaGuy True. simplify it to a degree where it appeals them the most.

To look smart
You can't be called "racist", "anti-Semitic", "Islamophobic", "'homophobic'" or anything else when you do
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Because it's a convenient way to feel superior if they're not religious
