Depends on if their opinions have validity to them.

I don't care what others think of my wife...I know her, I like her, and I love her just as she is. If others like her, fine. If others don't like her, then they can move along and it doesn't bother me if it doesn't bother her. If someone would harm or hurt her though in any way then I have issues. It doesn't affect my relationship with her or how happy I am with her in the least. On that scale it is 0.

I think it is MY opinion which is the most important. With the ex, everyone thought he was such a great guy, especially his family. No one had any idea he was like Jekyll and Hyde.
