HAS ANYONE EVER CALCULATED THE PROBABILITY THAT GOD IS REAL?

BlueVeins · 22-25
I wish. You can sometimes extrapolate the probability of God existing if you define God and make some assumptions. The probability of an omnipotent god existing is 0 by non-contradiction and if you define God as whatever caused the universe to exist, the probability of God existing is 0. As for uncertainty, there's not a lot we can do about that.

Yes. We can be 100% certain that God doesn't exist. Not to panic! We can also be 100% certain that eternal life is real.

Hey! I teach this stuff for a living. Trust me! 😁

@PrivatePeeks and like it or not everyone gonna find out! and you know who you are ...😂😂😂 (I love doing that LOL). If people understood just how freeing genuine Christianity is they'd mortgage their home to get it 😂😂🙌🙌🙌. But Jesus didn't see it that way ... I think He was probably the first Socialist, truth be told 😂😂😂 He made it free by paying the price of admission for us. He gave us a choice yet He also taught that the BEST PATH, the right path was the path of grace and mercy, forgiveness and love. He was a very remarkable man and following His teachings will make your ordinary life better no matter what your "belief" or "unbelief" is ... even if someone doesn't believe He is God. That's how belief in Him started back in the day ... people spread His word, followed then believed ... and
they didn't have SW 😂😂😂 IMAGINE THAT???

I'm thinking that it's probably higher than the probability of the universe just popping up out of nothing 🤔
Thingschange4444 · 51-55, M
I did it with a biro pen and piece of paper. The results were astounding
Bagalamaga · 56-60, M
God the bearded man guiding people around heaven? Zero probability.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
The general truth has been that we appear to exist and that everything must have originated from somewhere.

While I don’t really believe that we are in God’s image, I do believe we are concentrated forms (energy) of its’ imagination. So, yes, I do think that God exists but the bigger question is if WE exist!

Which god? Thor is still at the top with 132 %.

My soul says yes
SweetMae · 70-79, F
Yes, I have.

Wishful thinking / Reality check + Dogmatism - Free thinking x desire to oppress = God probability
As a Catholic and as far as I know - Catholics really don't care whether you are a believer or not.

Not an exact number, but the odds aren’t in its favor.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
The null hypothesis would be that nothing exists?
Elegy · 46-50
Yes, turns out he's not.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
Don't need to calculate
We can start with the probability that the gravitational constant is deliberately set. Then there's the other 30 or so constants that make it go even higher
@BlueVeins well, what I do is look at the probability that its very convenient value is a pure coincidence. Then I subtract that probability from 1, and you've got the probability of God. How I define God is a very different question. But within the context of this issue: Creator of the universe
BlueVeins · 22-25
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP So, you're only testing against the null hypothesis that all constants are set randomly?
@BlueVeins and finding the probability that they are vanishingly small
SkeetSkeet · 100+, F
I deal with that if the time comes.
