Do you take criticism well?

How did you learn to?
MushroomFaerie Best Comment
I watched an episode of meet the humans with Michael mosley and most people respond positively to praise but some people succeed using others criticism. One woman in the episode was talking about how after her husband cheated on her she was able to change her mind set and was responding well to the criticism but she had not always been that way. I don't respond well to being put down

That is interesting, thank you.@MushroomFaerie

Only if the person is more experienced in what they are criticizing than I do.

For example, I wouldn’t consider anyone’s opinion on my engineering designs if they are non-engineers. In the same way, I wouldn’t bother listening to people who have never worked out giving ideas out about muscle building. I just ignore their opinions.

Also the intent matters. If they care about my personal development, I wouldn’t mind. If they are just being jackasses, they better do something worthwhile with their lives. It’s all about being constructive.

Depends on how it's stated. 🤔

@Jeephikelove Yes, that's why people need to constantly brush up on their social skills and put the cell phones down...turn off the computers and verbally share more.🗣️

Grow a thick skin. I can take critcism about my writing, a little bit with my art but it is hard when someone criticise me as a person. For writing I would go on writing groups and ask the to critique my work also for art.

Ya fair enough, I do have a thick skin but I can’t take it from a partner. @SW-User

@Jeephikelove makes since. You should be vulnerable with your partner and they should be loving. As far as I know.
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
Right!?? Apparently that’s too much to ask of some partners.@SW-User
Fernie · F
not a problem
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
How do you do it?? @Fernie
Fernie · F
@Jeephikelove I'm sure of who I am...why should I worry about what others think?
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
Fair enough. 😊. @Fernie

I don't take it at all.
Agree with people

Don't try to correct them even when they are wrong.
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
Ya I suppose...@Llort
Simply put... It's one of the best things to learn to do. People will like you more and it helps you pursaude them when you need to
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
Ok, thank you. 😊@Llort

I take it ok if it's correct
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
Hmmmm interesting, so you have the ability to see through your own shenanigans? @HannahSky
HannahSky · F
@Jeephikelove some, yes. Criticism is subjective, so it doesn't mean it's always correct.

Its more like wrestling.. I twist their arms when they extend it to twist mine.
DDonde · 31-35, M
I can take it fine as long as it's not mean-spirited or in a very angry tone.
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
That is the key eh? The delivery is everything. @DDonde
