How much time can you spend away from someone before you miss them?

Someone I love? Sometimes I miss them before the door closes. With some people checking in every ten years or so is fine.

That depends. I miss my grandchildren every day.

If I’m going to actively miss them at all, it will be immediate and brief before I switch over to the “here in my heart” type mode or it will be a decade or more down the road when I miss both them and who I was when I knew them.
