WASHINGTON — Trump administration officials weighed speeding up the deportation of migrant children by denying them their legal right to asylum hearings after separating them from their parents, according to comments on a late 2017 draft of what became the administration's family separation policy obtained by NBC News.

The draft also shows officials wanted to specifically target parents in migrant families for increased prosecutions, contradicting the administration's previous statements. In June, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said the administration did "not have a policy of separating families at the border" but was simply enforcing existing law.

The authors noted that the "increase in prosecutions would be reported by the media and it would have a substantial deterrent effect."

Don't think so. He repeats himself now, forgets what he said a week ago, and deals with governmental problems with the attitude of a schoolyard bully.

President Reagan didn't show the dementia symptoms or illness until after he left the presidency. THAT'S when we were made aware of it (God rest him).

If you mean President Reagan - well, I tend to think that was his acting talent. The campaign between him and Jimmy Carter...I remember someone replying to a political reporter, "I don't know if I want to vote for the peanut farmer or the actor!"

I also read somewhere, just recently, that Lyndon Johnson chose not to run again because he felt he was developing one of these diseases we are hearing more about nowadays.

Like I said earlier, he has it NOW. He forgets what he said last week, or two weeks prior to that. And he keeps saying, "Somebody else"is in the wrong, not him. The next President or President-elect is going to have one devil of a mess to clean up after this man.
