How do you deal with disrespect?

I mean sure we all have our ups and downs and maybe tell off even those we are close to at some point in our life but..."close" friends aren't supposed to diss you, hurl abusive words at you, make you feel like you're worth nothing, or insult you in various ways by making you think you're inferior to them right?

How do you deal with those? Do you forgive them and try again, or just move on?

I usually just try to ignore it. But then again you either like me or you hate me so I never really put up with crap from people these days X_x

10 times? Yikes...

Call it out. If it's a close friend, use communication to expose your feelings. If it's not a close friend use communication to uncover your mistaken assessment about how close the friendship is. Either way, you win.

@MarkPaul But confronting your close friends isn't always easy especially if they go in another tirade for some insane reason.

@SW-User 🧔 It sounds like you don't want to deal with honesty, but instead savor the emotional rush you are getting from being a victim. *Sits back, lights pipe, and slightly raises left eyebrow.*
SW-User
@MarkPaul Such an psychoanalyst....I don't. I just inquired because I'm in confusion what to do over two long standing friends of mine *raises both eyebrows glaring at the smoke*

There was a time I used to forgive people a lot of shit they did making me feel horrible.
I'm now discarding all such people from my life.
SW-User
@SW-User I think that's the best. They're bound to just poison you eventually for no real reason.
SW-User
@SW-User Absolutely. When people begin to take you for granted that they can treat you anyhow, it's time to take back your respect one way or another.
SW-User
@SW-User Yeah true. it's annoying that even when you decide to close an eye for someone, they return to their bad habits somehow.

I try not to get close friends who would do that. If this was a sudden change, I would try to find out why, in least annoying way possible of course, and then decide what to do.
SW-User
@Faust76 I'm tired of trying to figure out others....
I deal with it physically - always have.
SW-User
@EugenieLaBorgia Oooh dangerous chick, or are you a vampire maybe? :P
@SW-User Well, not a vampire but I think something drastic should always be performed otherwise they just blabber on!
SW-User
@EugenieLaBorgia That at least makes them...incapable for a while....

@Overwatch6 Well everyone has a crap day but repetitive thrash is really off for me.
I would seek revenge.
SW-User
@MsAnnThropy Not always the best solution I guess.
