Using gas to cook with candles burning in the same room safe?

@MushroomFaerie Ah gas oven? Same idea. Turn the dial till you hear a click. That is the lighter causing a spark to ignite the gas. You'll see the flames. Also heat will be produced fairly quickly. If you can't feel the heat and can still smell the gas then the gas didn't ignite. If you feel no heat or smell gas then your gas isn't on.

Leaving unignited gas running can cause the room to fill with gas. Be very careful not to do this as the gas will make you sleepy and can cause explosions if enough fills the room and a spark is caused. If you do fill a room with gas accidentally you should turn it off and open the windows immediately.

@LvChris So when the flame is lit, it's not giving off gas and when it's on and not lit, it is giving off gas and if you were to leave it on for awhile unlit you could potentially be in danger if you were to light something? It took me a few days to even figure out which way the switch went to turn the gas off on the oven so I could have been giving off gas in the house in that time?
