Using gas to cook with candles burning in the same room safe?

I assume if it wasn't that people would know about it so it's probably a stupid question but I need to be sure as I do t know and overly cautious

When you cook with a gas burner the gas is being burned as it's released. You are completely safe as long as the burner is lit.
@Qwerty14 How do you know when burner is lit or not?
@MushroomFaerie You turn on the gas. You won't see it but you will probably hear or smell it being released. Then you light a match or use a built in lighter (depends what type of model you use) and ignite the gas. It will be obvious. Blue flame usually but if you let more air in the flame will appear larger and orange.
@Qwerty14 Oh okay, I think all that lighting jaz is internal, I just turn dials
@MushroomFaerie Ah gas oven? Same idea. Turn the dial till you hear a click. That is the lighter causing a spark to ignite the gas. You'll see the flames. Also heat will be produced fairly quickly. If you can't feel the heat and can still smell the gas then the gas didn't ignite. If you feel no heat or smell gas then your gas isn't on.

Leaving unignited gas running can cause the room to fill with gas. Be very careful not to do this as the gas will make you sleepy and can cause explosions if enough fills the room and a spark is caused. If you do fill a room with gas accidentally you should turn it off and open the windows immediately.

Hope this helps
@Qwerty14 Thanks😊
