Using gas to cook with candles burning in the same room safe?

I assume if it wasn't that people would know about it so it's probably a stupid question but I need to be sure as I do t know and overly cautious

@MushroomFaerie nothing to do with the gas. In terms of fire safety candles are one of the biggest causes of fires at home. All I was saying is don't forget to extinguish your candle when you go to bed or go out.
@Ironicman Oh yes no. Iam paranoid because my house burned down 12 years ago. I would never leave a candle unattended and am trying to get to know the do's and don'ts with gas... Not gonna get cocky

@MushroomFaerie in the UK you can arrange a free home fire safety visit from the fire brigade. A lot of the UK women think they're great.
