@hippyjoe1955 From huge ranches in Brazil that are where there used to be rain forest. The soil in jungles is surprisingly poor, so once you get rid of the trees, the land can't be used for farming. But cattle can be raised on substandard soil.

@LeopoldBloom Yes and the best beef comes from my home province. The cattle are finished on barley which gives the meat a very distinct and pleasing taste.
