Anyone ever have situation where your gf/bf/spouse refused to cover and pay their half of rent/mortgage utilities etc?

Yes, I can think of two. The one was in the end of our divorce. It was wrong as he seemed to think he could use our home like a motel. I set him straight. I said do your share around this house. I am not your maid. He was a loser.
@AmazingPoet: The person I mentioned was my ex. It was a sexless relationship for a long time. I tried to fix it. It was him, not me. He couldn't accept the fact that he was gay. He pretended he was bi. It was a disaster. But I have an incredible son from it. And I appreciate my partner now more than I ever would have before. I cannot comment on how men think as I am a woman. I think men may put up with more crap if they are having sex. Women I think require more than just sex to be happy in a relationship.
@PoetryNEmotion: I would agree with your comments generally, but age has a lot to do with it as a male. I believe men put up with more crap early on when they are younger but as their testeserone fades and age sets in sex takes a backdoor and we require other things more than sex to be happy. Mileage may vary - but that is how I have felt.
@AmazingPoet: I think as each of us becomes older, we become wiser where relationships are concerned. We have lived enough and know what we can and what we cannot live with. Thank you. I have enjoyed this chat.

I lived together with a girlfriend for 18 months, she moved in and i had offered to pay rent and utilities since she had a minimum wage job. I also paid for most of the food. The only thing she really bought for the house was the washing machine. When we broke up she offered to sell me the washing machine.

She moved back with her parents so she didn't even need it 🙄
Parasitic relationship. Sorry bro. Sounds like you got used.

Not really, I earned much more than her so it really wouldn't be fair for her to pay half. The washing machine was just a shitty vindictive thing to do after she we broke up. I strung her along for over a year and then when i moved house I sent her a text telling her she could pick up her washing machine from the curb.
@Solipsism: I don't think its fair for her to not be parasite just because you made more than her. What does "strung her along for over a year" mean? Meaning you didn't marry her? You did the right thing because if you had ended up with a divorce with a parasitic person to begin with she would have made you even more miserable by taking half your retirement later and not have had contributed anything. I know I married a parasite. Stay at home mom means stay the hell away from me.
