Why do people always say how bad they want a relationship but once they have it they treat their partners like shit..makes no sense
deadmoon · 31-35, F
People want what they don't have. It's very alluring until it becomes attainable. Then once they finally have it, they don't remember why they ever wanted it so much in the first place.
I can't tell you how many friends I've had who have whined to me about how single they are and how badly they need someone only to tell me how lucky I am to be single once they finally get that relationship they so badly wanted.
People think they know what they want, but more often than not they don't. Especially when it comes to relationships.

It's so ridiculous.
deadmoon · 31-35, F
Very true. I believe that's because so many people are of the belief that if they had a boyfriend or a girlfriend that it would complete them and make them happy. I suppose it does feel that way during the early stages of the relationship, but the new relationship high wears off after a while when things start to become less exciting and more comfortable. Once they no longer feel as happy as they did in the early stages of the relationship, they stop appreciating what they have. At least that's my theory as to why those kinds of people who claim to want a relationship so badly end up being really shitty to their partner after a while.

@deadmoon: IDK I'm not one to take the people I care about for granted. I guess that's why it's so perplexing

If you love somebody, you don't treat them like shit - you cherish them!

I think they probably just didn't want to be alone so they get in the first relationship that comes along.... then the person starts to get on your nerves 😬
