I have a question

Would you be upset if your S.O. didn't buy you a birthday gift? (personally, I think it's no big deal but apparently many people think it's an issue)

I need something. It can be you making me dinner, taking me out to dinner, a weekend getaway, spa. Anything. I don't neccasily need a material gift, like shoes, purse..just show me you care

@iamnikki EXACTLY! we went out to dinner and had some drinks afertwards and I had an amazing time. But many people seem to think that material gifts are just as important

@TheProtectedOfOrion sounds good to me. I don't care for material gifts. I always get thoughtless things anyway. Thanks for BA

One year my husband bought me a mug, into which zero thought for said gift went. That's what I was pissed about.

@KimWexler I hope he paid the price ;)

@KimWexler was it just plain or what?

I believe a relationship should be supported every day. A birthday only happens once a year, but support is something that can be given every day.

I think it's the the thought. Don't care about how much it cost but something that I like. Gifts of time or experience are often better than material goods.

Nah. My birthday is on a rather inconvenient day for gifts.

It might show a certain lack of attention ...

No, not a big fan of presents.
