My crush talks too much about his ex...

They were like the most popular couple in college, and people keep throwing gossips and lies about their breakup.
So I get why he'd like to clarify stuff.
But he has been going on about how toxic she is and how it was shit for 2 hours.
( I'd rather be talking to him rather than bored to death with this breakup story over and over again, and relationship stories )
They were a thing for 3 years, and broke up like 6 months ago...

Like now I'm genuinely scared...He says he is interested in me and stuff...But I don't wanna be a rebound...
There is a possibility you could be a rebound but you could also be the best thing that ever happened to him...

I suspect he just needs to get it out of his system by talking about it. It doesn’t sound like you guys are in any kind of a committed relationship yet so just feel it out for now, be a good listener, take this opportunity to learn about the mistakes in his previous relationship.

Be yourself and good luck!!!😊
He still loves her

Talking about your ex and the breakup is a no-no. Six months after the fact is exotically lame.

@StevetheSleeve but he blocked her everywhere...
The heck is wrong
StevetheSleeve · 31-35, M
@ArwenPandora He hasn’t blocked her out of his mind.

If you don't want to be a rebound, then I would suggest not getting with him. He still has some growing to do and it could be a while before he understands better ways to handle these things.

Yeah he's going to end up with her as soon as they apologize to each other. Relationships like that always go through that.

He knows she's toxic but he isn't over her. Tell him to let her go or let you go.
Chaoshead · 22-25, M
Tell him to shut up about it or get-out. 😤

It could be a massive red flag. I think a brief talk with him is warranted ... explaining how you feel about him going on and on about it like this.

3 years is still a long time for a relationship nowadays. I would count it as a major thing to clear up before diving too deep in this new fling

I mean he is just unloading. But I get it you're not there for his emotions lol. You there for that D.
ArwenPandora · 26-30, F
@Eternity that's the thing.
Idk if be trusts me so much he allows himself to unload stuff he doesn't tell people.
Or if he really did not move on
Eternity · 26-30, M
@ArwenPandora cant speak for him but if I'm telling you emotional shit I trust you.

I just dump my emotions on anonymous online forums.

In real life I stay stoned face.

I expect to catch a stress stroke in my late 40s early 50s lol.
I was with my ex for 3 years and it took me a lot longer than 6 months to get over it. Just saying. 6 months later even if I was genuinely interested in somebody else it would have been hard to prevent myself from talking about her. I'm not the type to use a rebound because it's too close to addictive behavior and I'm not an addict and don't ever want to become one. But god help me I wouldn't have been able to shut up about her.

Thankfully those days are a distant memory. I barely remember a god damn thing about her or what it felt like.

it took me at least 2 years to recover.

ArwenPandora · 26-30, F

He hasn't moved on yet

Well I'm not sure I'd rush into anything with him after a 3 yr relationship breakup, 6 months is not really enough time to deal with it, he still sounds pretty caught up in it whether it's anger or hurt..
I have 0 fucks to give about any of my exes anymore. Thank lilith.

They can all go pound sand for all I care.
