How long do you usually wait before you do the deed when you’re seeing someone new?

My coworker told me that she is making her current boyfriend wait two months.

Made me feel like I put out a little too soon. The longest I’ve ever waited was like two weeks.

I think it depends on the relationship already there. I don’t generally date strangers, so the connection is already established when we start dating

I haven't seen anyone new and God knows how long, but to answer your question that would depend on the specific person and connection that I have with them. It maybe soon and it may not be.
I have heard 3 months is great. It weeds out the guys who just want casual sex. The wham and bam and thank you, ma'am ones. If he sticks around that length of time, he must be into you. Not literally, figuratively. LOL. Tell me something, the guys you have been with, did they stick around a long time? Curious am I...

@PoetryNEmotion I’ve had two serious relationships, one lasted three years and I’ve been with my current partner for about six years now. I don’t date complete strangers.

Entirely case by case. Just depends on the relationship dynamic.

@UndeadPrivateer I agree. It could be very soon, or might take a while....but it has to feel right for both of you.

@DragonFruit Precisely.

I guess I am an old woman here. But it amazes me that you, like most younger people on here, make the assumption that when you are seeing someone, sex is inevitable and automatically expected. Also, that rather than following feelings or reacting to the evolution of the relationship, you want to pre-select a specific arbitrary time for it to occur.

Like I said, I'm old. And glad I no longer date now that romance is totally dead and buried.

Probably about two weeks or three weeks Tops to see someone new, but if there's no chemistry in between then I won't date or see that person. I don't want to sound vain about looks in general, but we do need that sometimes (such a bummer sometimes).

1 day, 1 week max. If you wanna do it, then do it. If you wanna wait, wait. Don't measure yourself by other's standards.

Two weeks is good. Two months is an eternity and your friend is risking losing somebody special.

Depends on the chemistry. But I prefer to wait a little while so I know who I'm with first.

What you do is up to you. Hell that guy must be having the case of blue balls with his girl.
couple of weeks usually.
