There's also a story about Jacob convincing an entire city to get circumcised as a sign of loyalty, then while everyone was recovering, they invaded and killed all the men. Glad we've got that big book of morals to follow.

It's weird when i see unbelievers criticizing the morality in the stories of the Bible.. It's as if they ignorantly believe that the Bible affirms as moral all the accounts of the actions done by people in the Bible..
Here is a little bit of 101 knowledge for you all.. The Bible is a worts and all description of Gods dealings with a lot of corrupt and faulty people.. The Bible gives often blunt and graphic accounts of all the different sins of each human character involved in the Bible..
Very few major Bible characters make it through without having their sins mentioned in the Bible..

wonder how they cover Lot and his daughters?

Yes a good few Christian folk either haven’t heard of it or deny it.

Perhaps 'Love God with everything you have and your neighbour as yourself' which Jesus agrees are the 'golden' rules comes on another page. 🙄

@Frank52 Yes.
I Samuel is part of Scripture proper, i.e., Jewish Scripture (often referred to as "the Old Testament").
The passage with Jesus is in the New Testament. But you can see the first ref. & google the other.

I think Saul was making a magic wallet for his daughter - rub it hard enough and it turns into a suitcase! 😂

Now hide the song of Solomon! Quickly!

@DeWayfarer Or even 'Solomon'. 😄 There's plenty of everything in the Bible. I think the OP is rightly drawing attention to what the focus should be for children.
