Please look it up....Clinton was Impeached. After Bill Clinton was Impeached, he announced to the press: "It's time for me to do the will of the people and get back to work as President of the United States"

@ozgirl512: Don't believe her. He wasn't impeached. He was acquitted in the Senate. Two other articles of impeachment didn't even make it out of the House.

@ozgirl512:

The impeachment of Bill Clinton was initiated by the House of Representatives on December 19, 1998, against Bill Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States, on two charges, one of perjury and one of obstruction of justice. These charges stemmed from Clinton's extramarital affair with former White House Intern Monica Lewinsky and his testimony about the affair during a sexual harassment lawsuit filed against him by Paula Jones.

The Independent Counsel, Ken Starr, turned over documentation to the House Judiciary Committee. The Chief Prosecutor, David Schippers, and his team reviewed the material and determined there was sufficient evidence to impeach the president. As a result, four charges were considered by the full House of Representatives; two passed, making Clinton the second president to be impeached,

The impeachment process is similar to a Grand Jury in which the House stands as the jury and decides whether or not sufficient evidence of a high crime or misdemeanor is sufficent to turn it over to trial in the Senate. So yes, Bill Clinton was impeached. ...but the Senate accquitted him so he was not ousted from office.

The charge - which was perjury (lying under oath) - were enforced by the judge of the trial in which he lied. Bill Clinton was fined and lost his license to practise law.

The judge did enforce the charge.....the court transcripts are proof of that.

@lov2smile: thank you .. this is a question :)
It would appear that yourself Ynotisay, may be arguing semantics over the meaning of the word impeachment?
From what you say, I gather the senate has to vote on the charges, and he had to be found guilty, as you say he was ( and I don't doubt you) for him to be impeached?
Where as up to that point of the senate finding him guilty, it's still only an impeachment process ... Is that right?
Thanks the the detail btw :)

What it amounts to is this:

The jury found the defendant guilty....The judge let the defendant walk.
When Nixon was impeached, he resigned in shame.

When Clinton was impeached he just laughed and continued on his way. Liberals have no shame.
