They're purposely kept off ballots (or made to gather thousands of signatures in a short time) by the two majors. That in m itself should make one suspicious. Otherwise, there really isn't a whole lot of difference between them. I don't agree with some things they (Libertarian ) push, but, enough to back them.

@MalteseFalconPunch I don't think that the major parties paint an accurate picture of what the left and right really are. The dems are pretty far left, and the repubs are actually towards the middle on most issues.
Their ideologies also aren't very consistent in a lot of cases, so I imagine that most people fall in the category of not checking all of the boxes for either party

The party itself is both retarded and hopeless, but I love libertarian philosophy and Austrian economics.

I go halfway with libertarians in that I'm anti-tyranny and recognize things like the state monopoly on violence as being problematic. I don't see how living under the rule of corporate overlords, rather than governmental overlords is any better.
Moving the US to a Gilded Age economy of no income or payroll tax, minimal regulation, and unlimited corporate power seems like a good way for history to repeat itself.

Some very noble ideas but no traction or ability to win any major election. I would consider it a wasted vote in my state.

@Allswellendswell on a practical basis I have to vote best viable choice.
Allswellendswell · 26-30, M
@GJOFJ3 "best viable choice" I'm almost certain that means the same thing as "lesser of two evils" and that is one of the biggest problems in this country. Nothing can get better if we continue to vote for bad people.

@Allswellendswell well lead the change. I'm proud of your conviction

They're the conservative equivalent of commies, with that same eager naivete - and libertarian paradise would be a complete shithole.

There are so many variations of that party

Most of the people I’ve encountered who call themselves “libertarians” are simply conservatives who don’t want to be associated with the alt-right racists in the GOP now.
