I Hate When People Pressure Me

My dad just asked me right now if I'm interested in taking a computer program class. Why the hell would I be interested in that when I've never once expressed interest in computers?! Sure, I'm good with them but I'm not passionate about them. I just wish my parents would stop making my choices. I'm in my twenties so I feel like I should be running my life the way I want. Not them. For right now, I'm fine with the way my life is. At my job I'm making more than minimum wage at my job plus bonuses. I'm helping clients lose weight and they have been. They keep wanting me to find new work because they know my job isn't in my field but that doesn't mean I don't like it. Sure, it's not a career but it's good for now until an opportunity for acting comes along.

Your parents are concerned, because you are not working in your field, and your job seems to be transient work.

Obviously, you don't have to listen to what they, if you're self-sufficient, and that means, that on your own, and without any help from them, can pay for the following:

- Place to live
- Clothes
- food
- utilities
- car
- gas
- insurance
- entertainment
- etc.

and if you can do this long term.

If you're good at computers (and you have to figure out what that means), then it's not a bad idea to enhance your education. Short to long term, every single field is going to be computerized. If you have the education in it, then you have a leg up over the competition.

I know enough about computers to get by. I was born during a time when the internet was first coming out. I know more than everyone I work with whenever there's a technical issue. I just don't like to do things that are a waste of time to me.
