Moroccan Restaurant - What should I order?

@SW-User Pickled lemons? That sounds intriguing. I'm definitely tempted by the chicken bastilla though.

@FaeLuna Pickled lemons are incredible. It's a fermented pickle where they're packed in salt and the rind becomes just intensely delicious and used for flavouring. Sparingly because again - its intense.

@CountScrofula I wouldn't think the lemon, being so acidic, could even be pickled, but now I need to try it!

@FaeLuna There's two ways of making pickles right. There's soaking in vinegar like normal cucumber pickles, but then there's fermenting in salt like sauerkraut which is the "classic" pickle method.

To make pickled lemons you literally just pack lemons in salt until it 'cures'. It's unbelievably intense so you only have a lil bit as a condiment or flavouring.

@FaeLuna Hell yes ~ they’re so good 🍋 using the right amount ofc ~ If you want to order that specific tajine ask them to add potato fries (frites) on top ~ it’s not so classic ~ more like a new wave addition but damn isn’t it the perfect combo
