I M A Friend Of A Friend Of A Friend

I have a friend who when I felt comfortable enough to show some sketches too. They went quiet then opened their phone and showed me a plethora of sketches they had made which were amazing.
They are very talented.
But
I just don’t get why they chose that moment to show me. They didn’t comment at all in mine. The moment was suddenly all about them.
I didn’t get it.

maybe they wer comming out of the secret artist closet
that IS a real thing, maybe they were sharing witih you, becasue you would not make fun of them for it.
OR
maybe they felt better at it?
maybe they ARE self absorbed...

It’s not the first time they have done this.
I had completed a course in something and when I called her to give her the good news they went quiet then after a short while said “Do you know I’m really good at ....too.”

@Carlisle some people, never can feel good about themselves, but to make others seem lesser.

compassion for such persons is hard
