What do u think about the hijab ban in France?

Viper · M
I don't know enough details of why France made the ban, to have a thought about it.

In a super quick Google, which means I probably missed a lot... sounds like it's only for those under 18, and in public areas as they're they're trying to get the youngsters to become a melting pot and conform more into the normal of a different ideas.

I think this is mainly just gonna piss off a lot of muslims and put young females in tough spots of weather they follow their family ideals (maybe even their own ideals) or the law.

And since their age to consent to sex is only 15, can buy wine and beer at 16, while their age to consent to a hijab is 18, muslims kinda have a point that it seems backwards with the more serious thing (could have a baby while drunk at 16) is the lower aged consent than their choices of head gear

@wildbill83 I wonder how extremists would respond to that ad. It might look a little tempting to some.
prohibition in the public space of any conspicuous religious sign by minors and of any dress or clothing which would signify an interiorization of women over men.
This was voted on by the Senate, and must be approved by National Assembly before it becomes law.

I think it may backfire, because parents will simply not allow their daughters to go out in public, and that might be more devastating than what the law is intended to fix.

I don't know enough about French Laws pertaining to religion, if they want to ban wearing one it's up to them I guess.

I think it's a sign of submission to men more than religion but people should dress however they like and if a woman raised Muslim decides she doesn't want to wear one she shouldn't be harassed by other Muslims.

@thedarkside y’all will shame women for showing too much AND for showing too little. y’all will be forever miserable.

Just another lecture to women on what they can and can’t wear!
What the hell is a hijab ?

An overcorrection. Always causes issues down the line.

The French can do what they want as far as I'm concerned.
