Would you have helped her?

If a woman approached you in a grocery store and showed you an obituary of her late husband. She also shows you her light bill saying they will turn it off if she doesn't pay 60 dollars.
I don't like sob stories
don't come and play with my feelings like that
@Platoscave better that way
you obviously don't know me as you said there...
next time look deeper

@butterflymind1 Platoscave problem is being too shallow.

TY for straightening me out.

This exchange is finished... TY.
@Platoscave you being too shallow?
no, that isn't what I said
I meant I have a kind heart
and I feel deeply
and you don't know that about me

I dunno. Maybe not in that situation because it just seems really freakin sus for someone to just walk up to you and ask you to pay their bills.

@SW-User I had someone walk up to me outside a Walgreens while I was waiting for someone inside, ask me, "Can I tell you something?" and then, without waiting for my answer,launched into a long religious harangue. repeating "The thousand years of peace" over and over through it. I couldn't get her to stop. Fortunately. she stopped and walked away just before my friend came out.

idk how i would feel, unless i could pay with a prepaid card i wouldnt do it. i wouldnt trust just giving her cash and my friend accidentally(she claims) used my card details to pay for a bill before because it was still an option on the website when she went to pay, due to me paying that bill for her before. so i especially wouldnt want my card info on a strangers account.

@CodeLyoko I have one debit card which I guard like a bulldog. I use it for ordering groceries online for delivery, rent payment, and that IS ALL. I don't use it indiscriminately, nor do I give my information to strangers. With all this, someone got into my account with a paypal card and deleted the payment of something I didn't order or recognize. I immediately called the bank. They put a "freeze" on my old card and gave me a new one. I had to contact Peapod and tell them I had a new card with a different number, and the bank gave me back the paypal card withdrawl. I don't own one and never will with this incident. Don't give a stranger information like this. either.

I'd be suspicious.

I've been known to "donate" to clever beggars, almost as payment for the entertainment.

In this scenario, I'd likely walk away.

However, it always depends on the circumstances

I smell "scam" all over this. I would take her to the service desk, have her tell the story, and let THEM call help for her. Another reason I don't go to the grocery store but have them deliver it instead.
Platoscave · F
Yes and also I would have given her the number of the local place that helps with that stuff, sometimes its the Salvation Army and sometimes other places. Sometimes there's nothing.

Can we all jump on this pity train too...
Let me double with this broad... She'll teach me the ways of finessing... The lessons i missed out as a child.
Technically I’m a retired widow too, and unlikely to have 60 dollars on me.
