If you were to suddenly become extremely wealthy, would you still maintain (or purchase) a modest home so as to deter familial envy?

If im wealthy my family is wealthy .

Id buy a farm with a cute lil house attached to it *__*

In all honesty I do not want a big ass house with a great deal of up keep. It's a matter of location. I wanna be a tad bit secluded. Where a neighbor is just barely within walking distance.

Couldn't care less about envy from others. Maybe I'll paint it red so it sticks in their memory 😆

I'd go with a small Mansion with a private beach somewhere on a island.

Could care less what some family members think with cash like that lol..

Home is living space so I shall design the space according to the utility.. and not vanity. In fact I wish to integrate my office and home ..

I would probably like to own several modestish homes to season at as I travel across the country. I'm not close with any family anyway.

I would keep my current home, but I would have another modest home to getaway to when we need it.

I would want a modest home so that I could retire and live off of investment and interest income. Fancy houses eat wealth too fast.

I don't really care about having a fancy living space. But I don't think familial envy would really be an issue.
