Why do guys feel the need to play video games while you're having a full blown conversation? Why? WHY?

Sometimes my mom tries talking to me while I'm in the middle of a game. It's like BRO, IM CARRYING MY TEAM RIGHT NOW. KANYE NOT

So I imagine that all the guy really wants to do is hang out and not deal with emotions and whatnot.

If he started playing video games after you two were already chatting, then I would be pretty upset too.
