@Lochlee Yes various sites were looked at and finally the Elan Valley was choosen

@senghenydd I understand "the greater good" of a project - very traumatic for those involved.

@Lochlee They weren't consulted however their village was rebuilt not to far away which I suppose made it alright

@senghenydd Dam displacements are always terrible for those affected, but I suppose those too die in time.There is probably none of them alive anymore only their children's children.

@Lochlee Yes all dead but the local community will always remember Llanwddyn many of their ancestors lived there no doubt all for the greater good like making way for new roads railways etc
