A Pumpkin and a Wish

Where’s my pumpkin the little songbird said
I’ve been coming round here
Time and time again
I keep looking for him
I crane my neck looking round the bend
But I don’t see my pumpkin
Did my pumpkin coming to me
Really did reach the end

He’s so sweet and I love him so
I’ve been so sad cause he’s not been here
Our favorite place just beyond the glen
We’d read poems and share sweet drink
Maybe something to eat
Had no time to think-just about my pumpkin

Maybe I’ll send him a song
Telling him I miss him all the day long
Maybe he’ll hear my heart beat for him
Maybe just maybe if I wish really hard
My sweet pumpkin will return to me
