How are you coping mentally with lockdown?

Sometimes I feel its like being locked up - in solitary confinement. Like a condemned person waiting to die, not knowing which morning is the last. One needs the hope of escape, even if its only an illusion. A glimmer of light on a dark night reminding one that at least one is not alone.

I’m easily distracted, so I’m doing ok for the most part. Some days though, I probably suffer from a mild form of depression because I can’t visit anyone or have people over

@crystalkid It can be a test of resilience.
crystalkid · 56-60, T
@alan20 true. Not used to no visits/ visiting for a week, but stay occupied with one thing or another each day

I keep hoping that numbers go DOWN for then our hope and joy could go up more. But numbers are going up😟 Let's hope that in the next few months everyone wears masks and limits extra get togethers. There is an end to this horrible virus I'm sure, it's just when. ☹️ We all have to just live in the NOW more than ever. But keep that little glimmer always too.

@Coralmist I totally agree with that.

It helps if you know that you yourself are staying inside for your own health and of you own free will. In this you are choosing to be responsible for yourself and others. Vaccines and masks will one day let us go outside again. Until then focus on friends, family, work, art, or anything else our busy busy life’s have made us neglect for so long.

@Gamalon Very wise.

I finish this latest sentence of quarantine this Thursday. I'm really really looking forward to this it ending
alan20 · M
@GERRI Good for you. Set out to enjoy it; communication is important.
Great, love it :D

@DarkCrazyArtistGeekGamer HaHa. A fellow anarchist. Socially responsible one I'n sure.
At the start of the lockdown, I was considered essential so I had to go in. Now that I've been reassigned to a different department, I get to work from home, and I quite enjoy it.
Mmiker · 46-50, M
I was never in lock in terms of going to work each day. Haven’t missed a day.
alan20 · M
@Mmiker Its odd. I never mitched a day off school and yet sometimes have guilt dreams about doing so.
meggie · F
Yes, its not just me, it's everyone else too. But some days are harder than others.
alan20 · M
@meggie I know : one day okayish, another not so rosy.
Peaches · F
It hasn't bothered me at all. I'm pretty much a loner anyway these daze.😎
alan20 · M
@FreeSpirit1 In comparison with that, I'm fine!
SW-User
Well enough. I've had moments when it really got to me, but I'll survive.
alan20 · M
@SW-User Others are certainly a great deal less fortunate. It takes patience.
