I Had A Scary Experience

I had a horrifying episode of a ptsd flashback/hallucination. Now, these happen often for me & it’s almost as if I leave reality only to literally relive the trauma. Anyway, I was relaxing with Joe ( a family friend I’m staying with ). We ended up drifting to sleep, me on the couch & him in the rocker across from the couch. I was sound asleep when I saw the silhouette of a tall man in the middle of the room. In that moment, I realized, I couldn’t move or make a sound. I could hear & see fine tho. That’s when I heard a horribly familiar voice, it was the voice of my rapist. At that, I couldn’t do anything but start to shake & try to explain to myself that this is not real. When I shut my eyes, I had a flashback of what they did to me. When I opened my eyes, the figure was closer & I still couldn’t move. I somehow must have cuddled into a ball cause the next thing I remember was Joe gently waking me up. I screamed & started crying. Didn’t even notice he gave me a paper bag to breath in. I hugged him & he told me everything’s ok now, showing me his house to further comfort me. I share this experience cause I know I’m not alone.
