I Am Not a Moral Perfectionist

I believe a person can have morals and values without necessarily going by society's dictates. We do need certain morals, values. rules and regulations that are "universal" in order for society to function smoothly, but I don't believe that they should be overbearing and repressive/suppressive either. I'm all for individual rights and freedoms, but I also believe that those should come along with responsibility and respect for others as well. No culture, society, government, or individual should fully and completely dictate and demand who or what a person is or does, but it does have the right demand a little order and respect which isn't too much to ask. We don't have to agree with or like everything about everybody, but we do have to live and share together with them and that requires some tolerance and respect...coming and going.
