I Am Worried About My Health

I have 6 of the 8 symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome. I'm not sure if I should be concerned or pissed.

Fatigue.
Loss of memory or concentration.
Sore throat.
Enlarged lymph nodes in your neck or armpits.
Unexplained muscle or joint pain.
Headaches.
Unrefreshing sleep.
Extreme exhaustion lasting more than 24 hours after physical or mental exercise.

I am so sorry. If that is what you have, it can't be cured. There are some things that might help you to feel better, though. A physical therapist can give you a series of graded exercises of different intensities. The intensity is gradually increased, and that helps to reduce your sensitivity to exercise. It can also be an immune disorder, and most of those, like polycythemia vera and lupus, also have no cure. Viral infection is the third typical cause, and I am unsure as to whether that can be treated.

Another thing you might do is visit an endocrinologist, because chronic fatigue symptoms can be triggered by a hormone imbalance.

Ask your doctor if he can give you a low dose of antidepressant, because a low dose can help you sleep and might also help with the aches and pains.

@xixgun You need to get some confirmation, and if your doctor confirms that you have this, you should be pro-active and ask for a referral to the physical therapist AND the endocrinologist. Educate yourself, because most family practice doctors don't keep up on this stuff.
