I Love Metalcore

There are two types of metalcore: METALcore and metalCORE. The former is more heavy metal than hardcore punk and the latter is vice versa. Of course, metalcore is a fusion of the two but some bands lean more toward one than the other. The validity of metalcore being an authentic form of metal is questioned by a lot of die-hard metal purists. Some go as far as to forsake the whole damn subgenre as not being "real metal". Their criticisms are totally fair for bands such as Bring Me The Horizon and August Burns Red but bands like Killswitch Engage and As I Lay Dying, you can't tell me they're not metal.

@MicrowaveDinner I think they got too much melody going on. Then again, it's been a while since I've heard their music so maybe they've grown heavier, idk.
