I Am Blind In One Eye

One Eyed Vision... I was born with Peters anomaly. Meaning two things: I am blind in my one eye, and I was supposed to be a little person. I had a cornea transplant when I was four, meaning that the eye looks a lot better, but it did nothing for the eye's functionality. As for the little person thing, my body completely rebelled against it, and I find myself taller than the average woman.

I barely remember my eye when I don't specifically think about it. I have lived like this my entire life, after all. I guess it doesn't bug me as much because I don't know what I'm missing out on.

My boyfriend has tried describing stereoscopic vision to me, and even though I cant imagine it, it sounds confusing. Having to focus both eyes on the same spot... I don't have to do that. Wherever my eye is looking, that's where its looking... there's no need for further focusing and stuff.

I think it would be cool to experience stereoscopic vision for a day, but afterwards I'd like to return to the way I am now. I am comfortable like this, I do not feel like I am missing out on such a big part of life - apart from not being able to see 3-D. I guess I am a creature of comfort, and I find life with one eye quite comfortable.
