I Sometimes Wonder What the Hell Is Wrong With People

I'm a little sad and concerned abt this dang coronavirus. I'm not worried abt getting it myself. I'm concerned abt all the things shutting down in fear of it. When businesses close people won't be able to work. No money will be circulating around keeping the economy up. Corona is not as dangerous as they are so terrified of. It just seems so ridiculous to shut everything down.

I don't think anyone is ignoring your points. And they are significant.

We are attempting to 'flatten the curve' and you'll hear more about this if you haven't already. Basically trying to slow the spread till medical response is adequate and ready. A few days or a week can make a huge difference.

We have to. You have to shut things down BEFORE everyone has the virus, not after. If you do it after, it's too late.

Even if nobody dies, we don't have enough hospital beds. Our economy can't handle so many people being sick home from work.

If we shut things down, we slow the spread, and our hospitals don't get overwhelmed. People will get sick, but not so many at once. That's the reason.

You know, I'm not the authority on the corona virus, but I do think it's as dangerous as they say. Yes, it's going to be a hardship on a lot of people who will have to stay home. The goal is to save lives though, and that seems like the right thing to do.

I think it’s more about keeping older and weaker people protected. It’s kind of an extraordinary effort being made on their behalf.....heartening in a way.
