I Don't Believe Doctors Have All the Answers

That's true, they don't. But when you look at them, really look at who they are and where they have been left - it's hardly surprising. This is my story, from the outside into the depths. It's short, and I hope that it will light a spark in some of you.

When I calm my other half, tell her it's all ok, remind her how awesome she was in the team in OPD, Manguzi, and ask her how she can recreate that level of awesome here, I often feel like I should record those pep talks and send them out in a podcast to all the doctors who feel the same (especially those who don't have a sympathetic partner) - let down by the government, let down by their professional bodies, and let down by the media. There's no consultant in A&E in Norwich tonight, and a trainee GP is one of the best they have. For 10 hours. It's not on, it's unacceptable, yet the public perpetually moan about the service they get, as do the media, and the government simply pay a large staff to .. do nothing about it and provide propaganda - let's not beat about the bush, it's propaganda. If this touches you, I'm glad. I am one voice, but if it penetrates anyone's heart it has made a difference. Go well, be nice, and spread the love, write to your MP if you can. A doctor is a much harder role to fill than it's ever been, and now they have to look after themselves politically as well. Ugh what a rant - wishy washy and emo. Some people might feel it though, I hope.
