I Have Been Slapped Across The Face

I have more than a few times from my husband because I have talked back to him, been overly disrespectful it’s part of our marriage that I accept his authority.

I've been hit across the face with my dad's belt. Sometimes, I felt the buckle. It was no fun.

@Lucy18 There was more emotional damage than physical, but yes, it can be physically damaging.

@Lucy18 Completely agree. The buckle shouldn't be used on a clothed butt much less a face.

@susker09 It furthered my dissociating in a big way. I remember blacking out when it was happening. I was conscious, but I couldn't see, hear or feel anything. I got a lot of practice at that, and unfortunately, carried that tool into my adult life. It saved my life at the time, but these days, it's in the way.
