This has been the worst year of my life, my dad died this year, and medschool is sucking my soul and I currently hate it.

It’s so stressful, I worked so hard and because of one bad rotation my gpa will drop so bad that my heart is literally sinking. What do I do? Continue medschool? Hope for a better time in my career? Give up?

I'm sorry that you lost your dad but I don't think you should quit med school. You have obviously worked hard to get where you and it would be a shame to lose it all now. Good luck with whatever you decide.

thank you @fazer1k
Don’t quit. Can you speak to anyone about what you can do? Did your dad die suddenly or was he sick? Sorry for your loss. It’s very tough losing a parent. I lost my dad in 2004. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of him. It’s painful, but does get easier.
Please don’t quit. You will feel worse if you do.

Losing your father is the most traumatic event you’ll ever face , unless you quit medschool. You need to a hold on your self and buckle down . Anyone would have had a bad rotation dealing with a dying parent ! Would your father have wanted you to quit school? Summer break is coming ... rededicate yourself and finish the semester ! You can do it !

I’ll try my best @TexChik

Move forward, one step at a time. Giving up will only make you feel worse. Sorry about the loss of your dad and the very best of luck to you. You can do it! I bet that's exactly what your dad would want.

He would but he is no longer here. @LyricalOne

@offingg But you know that's what he'd want for you and you would certainly honor his memory by following through and becoming a doctor. How proud he would be.

Is there any chance you'd be able to take a temporary leave? How does that work with schools. I mean, instead of quitting, you could just have a little time allowed for grieving.

@SW-User I wish, but there isn’t, i’d have to repeat the year
