I Dont Get It

What is it with people and money? Whole life you accumulate money only to not take it with you when you die. So why run so much after accumulating all that money? Same with the career. And the respect people demand coz they have some fancy degrees. Lol. Respect comes from within, but demanding it? I just dont get it.

The most amazing thing I ever thought...to be able to heal someone, take away their pain, make them feel better and make them smile again...has also turned into a brutal competition of some sort. And the bigger the hospital, bigger the cost, even though the minimum cost would be one-third of what is being charged. No wonder why most people dont like or respect the doctors.

It's because contemporary societies are strongly materialistically driven. People are indoctrinated with the assertion that success is measured in financial wealth, and a degree or career is a reflection of one's personal capabilities. It's a little disheartening to see medical institutions being run as businesses, rather than having its primary objective to increase the standard of living.

Exactly. And not just the medical institutions, even quite a few of the educational institutions have become a business and that's what is conditioned into a child's mind..financial wealth is success. But its also good to see people and some institutions around that work for betterment of the lives of people. :)

I've noticed a similar trend. Education and healthcare are both such important concepts for people, that I don't think they should be used as the means to make profit of. Profit would be a convenient byproduct, but it should never be its main goal.

What is it with people and love? Whole life you accumulate love only to not take it with you when you die.

Theoretically, death is the end of everything physical. We cant even take money or anything with us when we are in deep sleep or even in dreams at night. Same with death.

That's why I'd rather have as much fun in life as I can than try to be boring and prolong my life (delay my death). You're gonna die anyways so you might as well make the best of life.

Yup. My best wishes to u :)

Not everyone is accumulating money, some are just slogging just to make ends meet

Nope, happiness or joy is all within. Money might be needed to 'do' things or for the comforts, but it never would bring the permanent happiness or peace. One can be happy even without all the 'things' or the comforts that money can buy.
bradley98
Well that is subjective. I for example, may have perfectly valid desires that I require to be truly optimally happy, which happen to be acquirable through money or in a way that would involve money. Your idea of happiness may not be acquirable through currency, and is equally valid. To different people, different things are important, therefor happiness is achieved through different means. If I value something more materialistic than you more than you do, it doesn't make my valued thing invalid or wrong. For some people, money is the easiest route to gain what they need to be happy. For others, they need other methods to pursue happiness. It all comes down to what makes you happy.

That's true. We all have our own views and different people find happiness thru different means. Materialistic happiness is not bad. Nothing is good or bad in a way. In the end, we all want happiness. :)

When you die you take nothing with you so you might as well live it up while you can, and currency is only a means of doing so.
