@artistinresidence i read it twice. Once when I was 17 and did not believe in love, I thought it was ridiculous. Then I read it in my 20s and in love so I was finally able to appreciate better Jane Austin.

ever read anything by john-steinbeck? lotsa' classics down that aisle … "of mice and men" … "grapes of wrath" … "the pearl" … "east of eden". think my favorite was the one about the pearl. of course, many of his works contain hidden meanings … such as what did the pearl represent?
