I Am A Daddy

Lucas threw up this morning, poor little guy had a really awful tummy ache last night and was crying a lot. After he was finished, I gave him a hug and he didn't want me to let go. He just wanted me to hold him again, his therapist says it makes him feel safe and he likes the physical contact as it reassures him im there. He just fell asleep in my arms. I'm going to have to find a new job. I can't work 12 hours a day and leave Lucas all that time again. Plus it's just too much for me. I'm not worried, but I need more flexible hours for my son right now. I'll let you guys know when I found a new job and where.

@Skelepop666: thank you for backing me up

@Nathanlynch1984: no problem. My kid has anxiety and I know I can only do so much to help so personally I would rather get her the help she needs, addressing her problems and developing coping strategies conducive to her future happiness, than allow her to continue suffering. With the right person therapy can be incredibly effective.

@Skelepop666: that's a great thing your doing, and yes absolutely. Luke loves his therapist and has a real relationship with him and he's just been such a great help for him. Don't listen to anyone who says therapy isn't worth it or doesn't help, like you said when with the right person it's does so much good for the child. Something I also noticed is when with the right person, there's less shame or fear of judgement or admitting to seeing one. Good luck you're a great mom

Well talk to your boss maybe you do not have to find a new job. And where if your wife or gf?

Wow that's terrible and why does your son see a therapist is he not a toddler?
Nathanlynch1986 · 36-40, M
@updown2020: he's 16, anyone can see a therapist, I guess now a days it's called counseling but he needs it, he's had a rough childhood I just want him to be happy.

@Nathanlynch1984: sorry to hear that. I have no doubt you are giving him all your love and support and you will both be happy when the time is right for both of you
