What makes a good friend?

Hmm. I think the very best friends are those who tolerate you, and/or forgive you even if you've been a jerk. Everyone is a jerk sometimes, and forgiveness for it is essential to maintaining any sort of relationship. Of course, if you find that your friend is ALWAYS in need of forgiveness, or never seems to want to reciprocate, then you might want to reconsider...🤣

I have a friend with whom I can share the little doings of my cat, and I am never embarrassed by it, because I know he loves my cat. He, on the other hand, pours his every ache and pain into my ears, (probably because I allow it).

Mainly, a friend is someone who cares about you, and vica versa.

Being there in the good times and the bad no matter what. That is a true friend.

Being there for them thru the good and the bad times. Cheering you up when you feel down and being happy for you when good things happen to you. Always being supportive, etc.

Sharing: Feelings, belonging, interests, time, concern, love, and probably a bunch more! It seems like sharing is the denominator though.

Someone that still shows up in the good moments after seeing your bad moments.

Non judgemental listening skills. Compassion and humour.

They make the good times better and the bad times bearable.

The one who understands when I am joking and when I am serious

Someone who simply holds space for you as you navigate through your life, and partakes in your experiences opening their experiences for you to partake in.

They are there for you when everyone else turns their back.
