Every year on Memorial Day, my tribe holds a ceremony to honor our tribal veterans

It always take place in front of the West Valley Veterans Memorial, located in Oregon.
Those four pillars represent all four military branches and contain the list of names of tribal members who served, with a feather next to their name to signify when they died in action. I have many relatives whose names are on those pillars who served in the military from World War II to Iraq and Afghanistan. My own fiancé plans on serving in the Navy and will hopefully see his name on that memorial someday.

Very nice. Let us hope that you don't see his name on a memorial, that means he would be dead. Serving the country is both an honor and a heavy responsibility.

Thank you, appreciate their sacrifice and service for a land that was taken from them….

That is very honourable. 🙂
