Why is it racist to ask people to have id to vote?

Not trying to cause a fuss or anything but I feel like I must be missing something as a lot of the reasons people are saying could be describing anyone's circumstances...

just creating more unnecessary red tape between the voter and their constitutional right to vote smh.

@NoahB but don't they also have the right to fair and legal elections, that's what the id is supposed to be doing, making sure it's one vote per real, live person.

@Beautifullyderanged you have to register to vote which requires identification so thats already
handled. But also what if I don't have an ID? Not everyone does. Should the homeless not be allowed to vote? What if I need to vote by mail because I can't get time off work?

@NoahB in Georgia they accept photocopies of idea to apply for mail in voting and for the voting itself. They also offer a method to get a free voter ID card. Not sure about other states though...
