Where do you draw the line between "making excuses" and "having a valid reason"?

Not replacing the toilet paper is not ok if you use the last of it.

Being a poor sucker to have to call out to someone to get you more because you didn’t have time to check before going. That’s ok.

If it was something within my control, it's an excuse. If it wasn't, it's a valid reason.

lol. With others? I know the difference between someone making excuses and having a valid reason for doing something. There isn't any line to be drawn.🤷‍♀️ Is there something specific you're thinking of that creates a blurred line for you?

Sometimes it's obvious when the person making excuses isn't that good at lying, but when they're really good at lying, I have to accept their excuses a few times and if they continue making excuses I would have to tell them that it's not my problem
