Why am I stressing over a meal I am making and giving away for free

vetguy1991 · 51-55, M
Because even if it's free you want to do a good job

I felt like that over a community meal I did right after the StupidVirus started, "it's free they won't care" or "they'll love anything" were the popular encouragements, and I still felt bad over skimping a bit on ingredients because of cost and a bit of poor planning
Because you, maybe no one else and least of all the recipients, will know if you really tried.

because you care......and you want it to be good.

I stress out too, sometimes, when I am preparing a meal for others. If I am putting in all that work, I want it to come out right. I suppose I figure that a disappointing meal will reflect poorly on me. ON the other hand, when people express appreciation for something I have cooked, I find that very affirming.

I am one of those people who connect food with emotions. Maybe you are too?

Free or give? Like making for someone? Free sounds like it's for a customer.

Because you have expectations. Or you are thinking too much. Overthinking things.
